1. UGC NET 2025 Overview -

The UGC NET 2025 exam city slip has been released. The exam schedule is now available as well. The admit card for the June session is expected to be released in the third week of June 2025. The examination will take place from 25th to 29th June 2025. UGC NET (University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test) is a standardised examination in India, conducted to determine eligibility for the roles of Assistant Professor, or both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor.

1.2 UGC NET 2025 Exam City Slip

The UGC NET 2025 Exam City Slip has been available on the official website from 20th June 2025. The exam city slip can only be downloaded by the candidates in online mode. They can download it by logging in through their application number and date of birth.

The exam city slip gives candidates details regarding their assigned exam city before the admit card is released, enabling them to make appropriate arrangements beforehand... Candidates are advised to keep a printed copy of the UGC NET 2025 exam city slip safely for reference in the future.

1.3 UGC NET 2025 Admit Card

The UGC NET 2025 Admit Card will be released in June 2025. The candidates will be able to download it online only, as there will be no offline facility. The admit card will be available only through the official NTA website.

Applicants must carry a printed copy of the admit card to the examination centre and appear for the test on the specified date and time mentioned on it.

No candidate will be permitted to take the exam at any centre, date, or time other than what is allotted on their UGC NET 2025 admit card.

If any candidate faces difficulty in downloading the admit card from the website, they are advised to contact the NTA helpline between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM. Alternatively, they may also reach out to the authority via email.

1.4 UGC NET 2025 Examination Scheme

  • Mode of Examination: The UGC NET 2025 will be conducted in online mode as a Computer-Based Test (CBT).

  • Exam Duration: Candidates will be given a total of 3 hours to complete the test.

  • Type of Questions: The test will include only objective-type questions with multiple-choice answers.

  • Total Marks: The exam will carry a total of 300 marks.

2. UGC NET 2025 Cut Off -

Several factors will be considered while preparing the UGC NET cut-off. It will be released online only. After the announcement of the results, the cut-off marks will be made available on the website. Candidates need to get at least the minimum qualifying cut-off marks to be eligible for the admission process.

The cut-off will be prepared separately for each category by the authorities. Candidates will be able to view the cut-off list in PDF format. Candidates scoring marks equal to or greater than the announced cut-off will qualify for the subsequent phase of the admissions process.

As per the UGC NET Commerce cut-off 2024 released on the official portal (ugcnet.nta.ac.in), 291 students have passed the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), 3,668 students have cleared the cut-off for the Assistant Professor role, and 7,456 candidates have met the criteria for PhD eligibility. 3. Selection Procedure of UGC NET 2025

Once the UGC NET 2025 results are announced, there will be no further selection procedures.. Candidates will be shortlisted for the roles of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) based solely on their performance in the UGC NET exam.

Only the candidates who clear the exam will be eligible for the selection procedure..The highest 6% of appearing candidates will be announced as qualified. in order to qualify for the positions of JRF and Assistant Professor, candidates should obtain the minimum marks in each paper.

Marks

Age Limit

  • Candidates applying for JRF should not exceed 30 years as on the first day of the month. 8.5 years of relaxation in age is given to the candidates belonging to the reserved category.

  • There is no age limit to apply for the exam for Assistant Professor.

Appearing

Such candidates who are appearing for the final year or whose results are still pending are also eligible for application.
